I was born and brought up in Bristol, then trained as a teacher in South Wales. Rob and I were married soon after I graduated and our first home was in London. After we moved to Keynsham our two sons were born and we became a family. Here I became involved in Traidcraft and the fair trade movement and our house was rather taken over by boxes of teas, coffees and crafts to sell!
When Rob trained for ministry the family moved to Salisbury and then on to Somerset where I explored my own call to non-stipendiary ministry. I was ordained deacon in Wells and then priest in Bury St Edmunds after Rob and I moved to Suffolk in 2002. This was a new part of the country to us and we enjoyed exploring different places. As well as parish ministry, I became involved in the diocese’s world mission group and links with its partner diocese in Tanzania. In 2008 we moved to these parishes, returning to our roots in the West Country where we appreciate having real hills again!
My interests include exploring interesting places, walking and natural history. I also enjoy reading, art and theatre, with a more recent discovery of opera.
