Mission & Outreach

In our churches we teach responsible, realistic and regular giving in line with biblical teaching and the teaching of the church. As part of this we also seek to support a number of charities, local, national and international as a regular part of our mission and outreach.

All of our churches support the work of Christian Aid  with regular participation in Christian Aid Week events and special fundraising activities. We also support the Earl Haig Poppy Appeal through our Remembrance Sunday services.

At St. Mary’s, we have an ongoing connection with KunDe Foundation a relief and development agency committed to working anywhere in the world and primarily with marginalized and disadvantaged communities. We host an annual Light up a Life Service for Longfield (formerly Cotswold Care Hospice) and we support the work of the local Food Bank. We have regular speaker from the Mission to Seafarers and have supported the following charities in recent years:

We are also very keen supporters of the Children’s Society  through the annual Christmas Eve Christingle Service. In 2014, we held the financially most successful Christingle in the diocese.

In addition to our regular support of these charities we support a number of other charities through a range of Friday soup or ploughman’s lunches held on Fridays in Lent and on the last Friday of the month in other months.

At St Martin’s we have recently supported the following charities:
